They’re a little too close, a little too intimate for being in such a public place.

Hyunseung’s hands find their way to Junhyung’s shoulders

Too naturally.

I know.

He moves, fingers clenching against the muscle in the younger's shoulders as he shifts his weight to one leg, balancing himself. Junhyung catches his gaze for a moment too long and he’s forgetting to breathe and he’s forgetting about the crowd and he’s forgetting—oh yeah, to jump.

Screams and cheers flood his ears when they mess up once, and Junhyung just turns, laughing into his hand because how silly, Hyunseung had completely forgotten to jump.

And then he turns again, because that’s not fair the MC decides, and their eyes catch again.

I’m sorry.

It’s ok.

They move closer, Hyunseung’s hands a little less sure than before, gripping at the rough fabric of Junhyung’s vest, too tightly, too much. Then the rope is swinging overhead again and he remembers this time, just barely, to look down and not up and they make it. Once, twice, three times. The audience is counting in unison and it’s a mess of sounds drilling into Hyunseung’s head, and it may just keep his mind occupied enough to ignore the way Junhyung’s eyes are burning over his skin; to forget the way his muscles feel as he swings the rope around them. To just —and then Junhyung is moving closer, Hyunseung’s arm bending at the elbow as their shoulders almost brush, their breath mingles and it’s just too much.

I’m so, so sorry.

No, you’re not.

So Hyunseung pulls away again, and Junhyung’s face softens, eyes falling back to their feet and then it’s over.
